Western Han Imperial Tomb Soldier

Western Han Imperial Tomb Soldier

From Xi'an, this ceramic statue is a reflection of the famous Han Dynasty warrior statues.

The Han Dynasty, 206 BC - 220 AD, is considered a golden age in Chinese history. This type of terra-cotta figure was first excavated in the historic capital city of Xi'an in 1984. Compared with the terra cotta soldiers of the Qing dynasty, Han craftsmen payed careful attention to detail.

They focused on the soldier's inner world and their spirit. As tomb figures of the king, most of them show sorrowful and respectful expressions.
