Elmwood Cabinet Depicting Tibetan Mythology

Elmwood Cabinet Depicting Tibetan Mythology

On the panels of this hand painted elmwood cabinet is the Faruda, a Tibetan spirit who is daring, fearless, and strong. He symbolizes freedom from fear and is a powerful antidote to the negative spirits that cause harm and disease.

Also featured on the lower panels of this cabinet is the Tibetan Dragon. The Dragon thunders in the sky with the sound of compassion that awakens us from delusion. Along the edges of this cabinet are intricately painted vajra, or Tibetan stylized thunderbolts, which also dispel negativity.
