From the province of Qinghai on the Tibetan steppes, this mid size Guan Yin statue is nearly 150 years old. Carved from a single block of Asian elmwood and with multiple layers of gold leaf applied through the years. The Goddess Guan Yin is known as the Goddess of Mercy throughout Asia and was the bodhisattva who turned away from enlightenment to wait for all other sentient beings to become enlightened first.
